Image of a pyramidal neuron intracellularly- recorded/-filled in an anesthetized rat (In Vivo). Dendritic spines were readily discernible and the axon arising from the ventral surface of the soma was traced into the n. accumbens after giving off extensive axon collaterals intersecting with dendritic processes within the prefrontal cortex.
