Axonal regeneration and functional recovery after spinal cord injury
Ying Jin received her Ph.D. degree from the University of Hong Kong and her postdoctoral training from University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and University of Kentucky. She is now a research assistant professor in the Department of Neurobiology and Anatomy at Drexel University College of medicine.
Research and Interest
My research is focused on spinal cord injury by using multiple approaches to protect injured spinal cord, reduce scar formation, and promote axonal regeneration and functional recovery. Now I am working on a combination treatment of stem cell transplantation and gene therapy to bridge the lesion cavity, reduce the glial scar, promote and guide axonal growth after spinal cord injury, special in the chronic stage of spinal cord injury.
